Bolus from Bag in NICU

Our NICU is exploring the use of bolus from bag (BFB) for patients receiving continuous infusions. We use Epic and Alaris pumps but do not currently use pump integration/interoperability.

For sites that use BFB, could you please share the following?

1. Do you use EHR–smart pump interoperability?
2. How are BFB orders built in the EHR?
3. How do nurses barcode scan the bolus dose?
4. How do nurses document the bolus dose on the MAR?
5. What lessons learned, best practices, would you be willing to share?
