how is everyone handling the bodily fluids of patients on CBER medications. The vector based agents usually say for the vial/components (syringe/bag/line) to use biohazard precautions for disposal. Patients are to bag any contaminated materials (dressings, diapers, etc) in a bag (some state double bag) prior to putting in regular trash. Are these same patient precautions being used if pt returns to clinic or is admitted during the vector shedding duration or are you putting it into biohazard disposal? and how are staff being notified to take precautions with bodily fluids if a patient is admitted or returns to clinic during the precaution duration (especially the ones where PI states: immunocompromised/pregnant HC workers should not prepare, administer, or come into contact with injection sites, dressings, or bodily fluids of treated patients).
