CMA entering orders for providers

Recently discovered that our physician clinics have been allowing CMAs to enter orders for providers. This includes verbal and written orders that they will enter electronically. We had a major medication event with warfarin that resulted in patient hospitalization. I am a pharmacist and believe this is outside the scope of practice. However, we are getting major pushback from the office staff as this would impact their workflow and some only have CMAs on-site (no LPN/RN). We are located in GA. I am trying to determine if this is a community standard for physician practices. I would much appreciate input from others that work in GA and have CMAs, but any input on this topic is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
