Hi all! Curious how other organizations are approaching Epic’s new medication reconciliation functionality with the Fall release, specifically bringing outside medications inline with the local medication list.
For those planning to take this change, have you done any internal safety or workflow assessment beforehand?
One concern we are working through is that many different roles can touch the medication list, with varying levels of med rec training and competency. While we see advantages to making outside medications more visible, we also want to make sure we understand any unintended risks this could introduce.
Would love to hear what others have considered, including whether you’ve looked at role-based access/workflows, education or competency, or other safeguards before implementation.
