Oxytocin safety

Hi everyone! We are working on improving our oxytocin safety (already have designated order sets, one standard concentration, and high alert notifications in place).
Has anyone implemented any of the following and would be willing to share?

1) Standardized line labeling (many of these patients are also on mag drips, insulin drips, and LR - do you label the lines to distinguish)?

2) Implementation of an oxytocin in-use checklist using RN flowsheets (we are an Epic institution) to ensure appropriate monitoring; if so what is on your checklist and is it electronic?

3) We just went live with Epic/Alaris interoperability but have two therapies on the pump - labor and PPH. Is anyone using interop and have you simplified and moved to one Alaris entry to make switching dosing units more streamlined?

Thanks! Mallory Cowart, Corporate Med Safety Director, Orlando Health
