Nitroglycerin Tubing - Thoughts on PVC?

Hello everyone,

Nitroglycerin for infusion is known to adsorb into PVC tubing. To what extent is variable and changes over time with the infusion.

I'm curious to learn more about how sites are approaching tubing with nitroglycerin:

1. For sites using a specialized low sorbing tubing set, what are safeguards implemented to promote consistent use of the specialized tubing for nitroglycerin including initial tubing sets and for tubing changes?

E.g., Creating a kit with tubing attached to nitroglycerin product.

2. For sites NOT using a specialized low sorbing tubing set, what has been your safety experience given this medication is often titrated to effect?

Thank you all so much for your insights,
Zach
