Before January 2021, the Pharmacy Examining Board's Administrative Code chapter on Pharmacy Practice established that CV and unscheduled prescriptions expire one year after their written date. However, at the prompting of National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, the new Pharmacy Practice chapter published last month no longer lists an expiration date for prescriptions. It is now up to pharmacist's professional judgment.
What does you state say about prescription expiration dates?
This change seems reckless. Prescription expiration dates are in place to ensure that patients continue their provider-patient relationship. In the UK, for example, controlled medication prescriptions are good for only 1 month, while other prescriptions expire in 6 months. This seems much safer.
Curious what you all think.

Expiration dates for prescriptions: state law
