Leasons Learned: Experience with different COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers

We are about to switch the COVID vaccine that is available within our health-system from Moderna to Pfizer. Our medication management process has pretty much been very similar between locations (academic medical centers to acute care hospitals to clinics). However, we are looking for others that have either had the Pfizer vaccine or had a combination of both. There may be a time in the not-to-distant future when we are asked to juggle all three.

  1. What errors have you seen with the Pfizer vaccine that should be guarded against? ISMP had a newsletter last month.
  2. What are things that you discovered to ve valuable? That you wish you had done from the beginning?
  3. Have you had to switch manufacturers?
  4. Have you had to manage having both (and potentially now all three) in your health-system? If so, what were some helpful pieces of advice that you could share?

Any help woud be appreciated as I we look into the transition process.

Thank you,
Joel
