Drug Shortage: Hypromellose Ophthalmic Solution

Hello Everyone,

ASHP released a drug shortage notice for Hypromellose 2.5% Ophthalmic Solution and did not list any available products or alternatives. What is a therapeutic equivalent for Hypromellose?

I understand that other products like Refresh (Carboxymethyl cellulose) have a lower water retention rate.
