IV Push insulin
I am looking for feedback on how other facilities handle orders for IV Push doses of insulin. Do you allow nursing to draw up the doses on the floor or require pharmacy to draw up these doses? If so, do you dilute the doses or just draw up the ordered dose in a luer lock insulin syringe and instruct the nurse to flush post injection? Appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
