OR Pump Utilization

Good morning,

We are interested in benchmarking pump utilization in perioperative settings, particularly in children's hospitals (adult information is useful and welcomed as well!). We GREATLY appreciate your reply to the below:

1. Does anesthesia/OR routinely use large volume smart infusion pumps in the OR for IV fluids and/or medications?
a. If yes, which pumps have you implemented? Are they different than the large volume pumps used within the units of the hospital?
b. If no, are any mechanisms in place used to ensure safe IV fluid infusions by gravity? (i.e.: buretrols)? If using buretrols, is there an age/weight setting for use? If other mechanisms, please explain.

If you have any other feedback, we would love to hear from you via e-mail: gabriella.philipson@nicklaushealth.org.

Thank you!

Best,
