The Medication Safety Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership in overseeing the safe use of medications within the organization. The Medication Safety Program Manager will utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with pharmacy, nursing, medical staff, IT, and hospital administration leaders to improve the medication use process through fostering a culture of safety, participating in retrospective and proactive risk identification, and facilitating process improvement/quality improvement initiatives to reduce opportunities for error. To collaborate with entity and system-level pharmacy leadership to implement best practices for medication safety; monitor evidence-based trends and best practices, guidelines, and positions for medication safety and work collaboratively to facilitate implementation of recommendations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of Pharmacy with B.S. Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
PGY2 in Medication Use Safety, Health-System Pharmacy Administration, or Drug Information (with emphasis on medication safety) or equivalent experience.
Three years of experience in medication safety or administration with a focus in medication safety.
Current Georgia Pharmacist License or eligibility for Georgia licensure.
