Staff education on One Piece Flow/Single Piece Flow

Forums:

Interested in any staff educational materials that you or your healthcare facility has created and is willing to share on One Piece Flow/Single Piece Flow (sometimes also called continuous flow), versus batching. I am particularly interested in any pharmacy-centric examples highlighting medication preparation prior to dispensing.

Any information you can share is greatly appreciated!

ED Pharmacist Role within Medication Use Process

Forums:

Hello,

Would anybody be interested in sharing policies or procedures around their ED pharmacists' roles and responsibilities as it relates to the medication use process in the Emergency Department?

Interested in information about their roles as it pertains to both trauma and non-trauma situations; preparation of medications with orders and medications removed from ADC on override, as well as the hand-off process when pharmacy obtains med from ADC and/or draws up for administering end user.

Thank you,

Matt

Cyclosporine oral liquid

Forums:

Interested to see how other institutions handle cyclosporine oral solution dispensing. We currently dispense as the bulk bottle with the manufacturer syringe but have seen errors and confusion surrounding utilizing the bulk bottles. I have heard other institutions have made this oral solution a dual sign off product. Curious to see what other ideas are out there.
Thanks -
