3% Hypertonic Saline programming in Alaris pumps

For Alaris pump users how is your 3% Hypertonic Saline infusions set up in your Alaris pump?

For years we have kept our 3% NaCl in the fluids library as it is generally dosed by mL. With increasing use and ED's desire to have in their ADCs we are looking to move it into the drug library for added safety, but need to have a "dosing measure" that is not mL. We are planning to use the measure of units and educate that 1 unit = 1 mL for programing purposes. Interested to know what others have done and where their 3% hypertonic saline is at in the Alaris program? Moving 3% NaCl into the drug library is allowing us to have more safety guardrails especially with VTBI (infusion volume).

Thanks,

Paul
