Alaris Pump Keys Purchased by Patients
We have recently encountered a situation where patients are able to purchase keys compatible with the Alaris pumps through eBay or Amazon and bring them into the inpatient setting. While we can work on a process to control purchasing these keys as the replacements for the institution, what measures have you implemented to prevent a patient from using a self-procured key inappropriately?
