Barcode Medication Administration (BCMA) in Procedural Areas - Epic

Good afternoon,
We are exploring the use of BCMA in procedural areas and wonder if anyone has experience with successful implementation of the process. The barrier, historically, has been communicated to be that there is a sterile field that cannot be compromised in order to scan the patient. We use Epic at our facility. I'm thinking we can start small and slow in our Cath Lab and Special Procedures and later expand to the OR. Cath lab uses Cupid and Special Procedures uses Radiant. Once expanded to OR we would have to look at using within OpTime. Looking forward to hearing about your experience.
Regards,
