Hello, our institution typically uses the premixed bag for diltiazem, however in this instance, it has been ordered but will not be received for a few weeks.

Our plan is to make the minibag+vial for nurses to activate at bedside.

There are safety concerns around this because the diltiazem is a liquid formulation.

Have you had any experience with this concern? If so, I would appreciate if you could share how you mitigated it.

This is a shorter term problem and the plan so far is to disseminate education to our nurses, but any other safety measures or ideas would be beneficial.
