Interprofessional Education in Patient/Medication Safety
Hello,
Over the past few years I have participated in a Patient Safety Course for Univ. of VT Medical School third year students that occurs prior to their clinical rotations. Last year, I helped coordinate this into an interprofessional course and we included the Albany College of Pharmacy students as well as the University of Vermont Nursing students. This year we are planning to further develop it to include a specific course in medication safety. I have found the course to be a great forum for patient safety discussion as patient safety is a team effort. I am wondering if anyone else currently does this and would be willing to share course curriculum ideas. Thank you for your time! ---Jeff
