Good Morning,
Does anyone administer IV Bactrim as straight drug at their institution for fluid-restricted patients?

Thank you,

No, our highest concentration is 80mg TMP/75mL D5W (2 hour expiration). The short expiration obviously poses a challenge with mixing on the fly and delivering ASAP.

Our concentration for fluid restricted patients is 1.06 mg/ml (TMP).  Our standard diluent for concentrated  Bactrim is D5W which we give 4 hrs expiration (mixed in NS has expiration of 2 hrs).
