Medication Rooms vs ADC Level 1 Trauma Center

We are a metropolatin Level 1 trauma center who is expanding our Emergency Department. Currently, we have Omnicells in the "open" area around the nursing stations/computers. The ED staff prefers this; the leadership team is considering closed medication rooms with badge access. For Level 1 TC and busy EDs: do you function with medication rooms or ADCs in an open area?
Thanks ahead of time.
