Good afternoon,
I am wondering if you can share your thoughts on this Joint Commission requirement: "Medications are dispensed in the most ready-to-administer forms commercially available and, if feasible, in unit doses that have been repackaged by the pharmacy or licensed repackager."

-How do you feel about products like vial2bag or mini bag plus in relation to this standard?
-If you use the above, are you requiring any special training of nursing?
-How do you ensure there isn't product creep in regard to driving more manipulation of meds at bedside in efforts to make medications more readily available to nurses (i.e. loading in the ADCs)?

Thank you for your guidance,
Stacie Ethington MSN, RN
