Mock Code Blue Expired Medication Request

Our nursing education department is requesting expired code blue medications to stock their "mock code blue cart" for education purposes. I was wondering what other organizations do as this could be a safety and regulatory concern if by chance these medications end up in circulation. Any best practices out there? Does any one give out expired medications to nursing education and have a solid SOP or policy? Do you use "demo" medications. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
