OR Infusion Pump Interoperability

I have questions for organizations that implemented infusion pump interoperability with electronic medical records in OR (auto-programming and auto-documentation).

1. What EMR (e.g., Epic) do you use?

2. Do you use Anesthesia Epic Module or something else for interoperability in OR?

3. Did you have medication scanning in OR prior to the implementation of interoperability?

4.If medications were scanned in OR prior to interoperability:
- Did providers scan manufacturers’ barcodes or barcodes on generated labels?
- What did you use for medication scanning and labeling (e.g., Codonics, Vigilant)?
- Were you able to continue with the same scanning/labeling process for interoperability or had to implement something new?

5. What challenges have you encountered with interoperability implementation in OR and/or what would you do differently?

Thank you so much in advance!
