Pharmacy sampling processes

Our institution is re-examining pharmacy sample workflows in light of the updated USP <797> requirements. Outside of organism identification which requires microbiologist expertise, we are curious about the role of microbiology labs in pharmacy sample processing at other organizations.

1. In your institution, who incubates and performs CFU counts for cleanroom environmental samples (monthly air/surface samples)?
A) Microbiology lab incubates samples and performs CFU counts
B) Designated person(s) in pharmacy department incubate samples and perform CFU counts
C) Other (please specify)

2. In your institution, who incubates and performs CFU counts/turbidity assessments for gloved fingertip testing and media fill tests?
A) Microbiology lab incubates sample and perform CFU counts/turbidity assessments
B) Designated person(s) in pharmacy department incubates samples and performs CFU counts/turbidity assessments
C) Other (please specify)
