Does anyone have any experience with outpatient offices/clinics wanting to provide platelet rich plasma (PRP) mixed with calcium chloride injections?
In my (limited) understanding of the request and procedure, it sounds like blood is drawn from a patient, centrifuged to concentrate platelets, and calcium chloride is then added to "activate" the PRP. This is apparently used is various dermatologic/cosmetic procedures.
I have not been able to find any USP, Ohio BOP, or federal guidance.
Does anyone allow this at your institution?
Thank you so much in advance!
