Prostacyclin management

Hello Med Safety Officers,

We currently do not manage patients on prostacyclin infusions (Flolan, etc.) at my hospital, and at this point we do not have the expertise or infrastructure to do so safely. Instead, we transfer patients out to a Boston hospital. We are getting pressure to change this policy and are preparing for a big discussion at P&T Committee. "If the patients can manage these infusions at home themselves, then what's the big deal?"
Can you please share any advice / experiences / safety events that you've had with prostacyclins to inform this discussion?

Thank you in advance!

Erica
