Transdermal fentanyl recall - Alvogen product

In case anyone missed the FDA alert yesterday, we thought it was imp0ortant enough to repeat here for anyone using Alvogen transdermal fentanyl.

Patients on low dose 12 mcg/hr patch might be at risk due to product mislabeling.

A small number of cartons labeled 12 mcg/h Fentanyl Transdermal System patches contained 50 mcg/h patches. The 50 mcg/h patches that were included in cartons labeled 12 mcg/h are individually labeled as 50 mcg/h. However, patients may miss identifying the strength on the individual patch, which obviously could be life threatening, especially for first time users.

Affected lots include:
Lot 180060 of Fentanyl Transdermal System, 12 mcg/h, expiration date 05/2020
Lot 180073 of Fentanyl Transdermal System, 12 mcg/h, expiration date 06/2020
