Meperidine injection shortage

Hello,

We typically stock meperidine 25 mg/mL single dose vials/carpujects (currently on ASHP shortage list), however we were able to purchase an alternative concentration to have the medication available temporarily. Has anyone been able to implement an effective way to emphasize a different concentration is being stocked compared to our usual product?

Per ASHP drug shortage information, the listed available meperidine product is a 50 mg/mL, 30 mL multiple dose vial. Does anyone have plans to use this product, and if yes what safeguards are you planning to implement?
