Nursing IDCs with Covid Patients

Hi all -

I was posed with a question on if we could suspend nursing independent double checks on Covid-19 positive or presumptive positive patients, due to needs to conserve PPE. We investigated multiple options in our EMR, and could not find a viable solution. The functionality is all or nothing, and I'm not comfortable with turning off the dual signature for all patients, all high alert meds. I had a call with nursing leadership this morning, and we're trying to determine how best to conduct the second check without the nurse entering the room. Does anyone have any ideas on how best to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Elizabeth
