Protocols in the ambulatory setting

Hello,

For those of you with outpatients clinics as part of your hospital system, I am hoping someone may be willing to share examples of hospital approved protocols which include medications orders that nurses are allowed to initiate based on the defined protocol that a physician subsequently signs.  An inpatient example would be standing orders such as vitamin k and erythromycin on L&D.  I have less experience in the ambulatory side so hoping for some advice as I have been asked to review some ambulatory protocols and would like to have some good examples.  Thank you!    ---Jeff
