Research on the financial benefits of Medication Safety Officers

Hi all

I am currently in the process of writing up a thesis to answer the following research question:   to study the work of medication safety pharmacists in order to evaluate whether the potential economic benefits to hospitals would outweigh the costs of creating such a role.

I work in an Irish state run hospital, so reimbursement is not a major factor, but I would particularly like to hear if any of you in as Veterans Health type area have attempted a financial appraisal or evaluation of your posts in the past, and if there is any suitable literature you might like to direct me to.

I would be happy to share my literature review, and in fact my whole thesis if anyone would be interested.

Regards
