We have a request from our nuc med department to provide a vial of 23.4% sodium chloride for QC testing on one of their kits. Is anyone else doing this? If not, what are you using as an alternative (kit or QC method)?
Does anyone allow the infusion of 3% sodium chloride outside of a critical care/ICU area? We have nephrology order it occasionally on our short stay or telemetry unit but our policy says it can only be administered in Critical Care. We are reviewing if that policy needs to change. We do have a dual sign set up in Epic because it's a high risk infusion.
