BMI and BSA calculations for amputees in eHR

How are others handling the calculations for BMI and BSA for amputee patients?

We utilize Epic and have flow sheet functionality that accounts for the amputation percentage and creates an adjusted BMI. However, that functionality does not override the BMI that is created directly off the patient's height and weight that shows up for dosing. It also does not have functionality for BSA. This gives users erroneous information for BMI and BSA for amputee patients. These discrepancies can be quite large in a double lower extremity amputee leading to overdoses. Have others come up with workflows in Epic to overcome this issue? If not possible to show the correct information we would rather not have the erroneous BMI and BSA show up if that were an option. Then a BPA could be used to point them to appropriate calculations.
