Operating room (OR) medication management - COVID-19

Hi,
We are interested to learn how others are managing medication storage in operating rooms used for COVID-19 + or suspected + patients.

We use PYXIS anesthesia carts. However, with COVID-19, we need to determine if we need to do something differently. We are developing options to make a decision on whether to continue to use PYXIS in the OR. Some of our considerations include how to clean the entire cart after the case and how to replenish / segregate unused medications. We are also discussing a plan to not use PYXIS and change to a medication box/tray exchange, similar to the code cart process.

If you have additional considerations, options, or plans for how you are managing medications in the OR, we'd appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks,
Jen
