With EPIC now allowing for different drug-drug interaction settings for inpatient and outpatient settings we are evaluating the severity of drug interactions showing to our outpatient physicians and APPs.
1. Have any of you turned on additional severity drug drug interaction warnings for your outpatient prescribers knowing that they do not have the second barrier of pharmacist review prior to hitting the dispensing pharmacy?
2. What level of severity interactions show to your physicians and APPs? Does it differ for inpatient vs outpatient?
3. What benefits/issues have you seen when changing the settings?
